Advance Fee Frauds and Identity Theft

I have been posting a lot of these scam emails that landed in my email to aware general public. However few comments have been posted where readers were concerned about this scam process and how can it effect their identity.

Firstly in majority of these emails they will be claiming that they want to pay you reward you, or they might tell you that you are a lottery winner, in some cases they might say its an inheritance money.  One reader commented that the sender just wanted me to reply to the email. Well here is what happens if you reply to the email. They will ask your personal details in the next email. Than they will tell you OK your money is about to be cleared but you will have to pay this much advance fee. If you pay them the advance fee you will not only loose your money but you will also at this point shared your personal details with the sender. Since this sender is already involved in fraud , he might use your identity in another crime and this way you can also fall victim of identity theft.

Few things to ask yourself my friends, why is the sender using a free email service when he/she claims to be from a reputed organization. How can you win a lottery when you have not played one or you have not opted for it. These scam emails are also referred to as Nigerian scams. A lot of internet users have fall victim to these scams.

I hope this information will be helpful to you. Please do leave a comment if you have find my blog helpful, this way my goal to spread awareness will be achieved. By just one comment you are spreading awareness.
